Mandatory Vaccinations and the Buteyko Method for Breathing

Dr Kokayi has a chance to speak with Bud Weiss an advocate of free choice with respect to vaccinations. Proponents of mandatory vaccination were trying to push a bill (bill 10492) thru the NY State legislature sanctioning this. The sheer fallacy in doing this is discussed and indeed this bill was later defeated with the help of parents and practitioners state wide. In the second half of the program Bud Weiss changes hats and speaks about his work with a phenomenal system of breathing developed by a Russian doctor, Dr Konstantin Buteyko. This system of breathing has been repeatedly shown to facilitate patients recovering completely from asthma and other reactive airway diseases. Its also important in the treatment of hypertension. The increase in the expiratory phase of breathing leads normalization of carbon dioxide levels in the blood (increases them) which lead to dilation of arteries and airways.

Help for Seniors at Home

Dr Kokayi interviews a co-founder of Senior Helpers, Peter Ross. This organization was inspired by founders’ own difficulty in having elder loved ones taken care of. The organization is nationwide and operates as a franchise providing companionship and service for seniors around the country. This program was inspired by the realization that with Father’s Day approaching many older men are depressed and lonely and family members are often unaware or ineffective in providing them with the kind of help that is needed. This organization helps seniors to live independently at home and has grown rapidly, with franchises opening up around the country.
