<itunes:summary>This is a three hour fundraiser featuring the must see DVD Healing Cancer from the Inside Out and the Rave Diet Lifestyle book. Not only do these fundraiser premiums offer a real critique of current cancer care but they propose both in principle and thru the examples of people who have successfully checked cancer a plant based diet focus as the main approach to healing their cancer problem. The DVD critiques the current methodology of statistical sharing with respect to cancer survival and chemotherapy. It becomes clear that in many instances people are being misinformed. The connection between cancer and animal protein is also established. The Rave Diet Book offers over two hundred plant based recipes to address cancer and overcome a number of chronic diseases. This was the highest earning premium for WBAI’s May fundraiser as of May 26th, 2009.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Dr Kokayi has an opportunity to interview the award winning science writer Gary Taubes. This is a truly compelling interview highlighting Mr Taubes’ very well referenced Good Calories Bad Calories. Mr Taubes has provided excellent documentation for the way that obesity has been dealt with throughout the last one hundred years in the Western world, starting with the emphasis on CHO to the latest craze around low fat diets. The myths and lack of real scientific documentation around the low fat approach to weight loss is highlighted and Mr Taubes shows the link between sugar, obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer. </itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Dr Kokayi has a chance to interview two practitioners in one of the Western world’s most cutting edge medical therapies that delves into the interface between mind and body and the true roots of disease. Dr Kokayi’s guests Mitchell Rabin and Isabelle Benarous share with the listening audience the science and art of Total Biology and Bioreprogramming. The method of Bioreprogramming contains powerful tools to undo personal and ancestral programs at a subconscious level, with acute precision, in order to create lasting solutions and healing of unresolved mental stress at the heart of pathological conditions in the body. As Mitchell Rabin points out the approach to total biology is like “Louis Hayes on steroids”.</itunes:summary>

Mr Hahn lays out the science of why calorie exercise programs fail and can actually cause you to gain more weight as your metabolism slows because of the loss of muscle mass. Through focusing on strength training one can increase muscle mass from childhood to old age. In fact this program is being offered as part of WBAI’s fund raising drive with the premiums being Mr Hahn’s Strong Kids Healthy Kids book and a three DVD package on the slow burn method. With Mr Hahn’s scientifically proven method thirty minutes a week, yes a week, helps the body to reset its metabolic weight and you can gain lean body mass and lose fat. </itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Both Dr Kokayi and Faybiene comment on Barack Obama becoming president elect with Dr Kokayi bringing up questions around the depth of change needed, particularly as it relates to health care and what people want and need. The subject of mental health is approached from the standpoint of the Four Pole Model of mechanism, biochemistry, energetics and spirit as the blueprint for understanding all diseases, diagnostic tools and therapy. The spirit/consciousness component of disease and therapy is highlighted with a look at how techniques like cognitive therapy and biofeedback can help people break out of states of mind that are causing and perpetuating disease states whether the resulting problem is called hypertension or anxiety. The guests, Benita Wilson a psychotherapist and biofeedback specialist and Dr Aminah Dean, naturopath and bio energetic healer, both working at the Kokayi Center, dialogue with Dr Kokayi about techniques to address the nonphysical roots of illness. </itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Its been a couple of years since Dr Kokayi has dialogued with Dr Kellerman about his unique laboratory exam that helps clinicians to figure out exact formulations to balance brain neurochemistry. Dr Kellerman describes the role that excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitters play in helping us to keep our emotional and behavioral balance. His lab is now able to legally operate in NY and most major medical insurances are accepted. Patients desiring to get off of psychotropic medication can have their progress monitored with this test whereupon custom blends of amino acid formulations can be taken to restore balance to the nervous system. Dr Kokayi has performed over one hundred of these tests which he has used to assist him in the treatment of such problems as anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, and obsessive compulsive disorder.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Dr Kokayi explores the field of midwifery and how its being impacted by the medical establishment. The legacy of black midwives is discussed with his three guest midwives along with the fact that the field is changing, becoming more academic and less hands on. Dr Kokayi points out that the US has a higher infant mortality rate than Cuba and how the nature of a holistic intake and care helps to lower this. Along with their discussion is the reference to the Black midwifery conference “Reclaiming the Wise Woman Within”, occurring a few days after this radio appearance.

<itunes:summary>This program focuses on how one practitioner utilizes non conventional methods in her naturopathic practice that allow her to diagnose and treat without a focus on blood work or physical exam. While these are things that she uses in her practice her main diagnostic tool belongs to a class of instruments that measures “vibrational “ energy of a patient to arrive at an understanding of the pattern of imbalance and then guides the practitioner in the selection of vibrational and biochemical therapies. The guest, Dr Tarryn Tranquility Foster, found that her interaction with patients constantly brought her back to issues that speak to the spiritual nature of people. Her unique way of approaching medicine allows her to access this medium. In approaching this topic Dr Kokayi also shares a some aspects of his practice and his development as a practitioner.

<itunes:summary>Dr Kokayi is joined by a culture carrier of the Native American people, Frank Menusan, who shares how his reintegration into his own cultural path has aided himself as well as others. Highlighted in this program is the fact that modern medicine’s suppression of other cultural streams of healing decreases the possibilities for healing to take place in those people who need medicine that comes out of these cultural technologies. The Native American journey has been particularly difficult when you consider that the Freedom of Religion Act for Native Americans was only passed in 1978. Frank Menusan clears up misconceptions about “dream catchers” and shares other Native American healing technologies.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>In light of many cultures around the world that use mind altering techniques in their healing traditions and ceremonies, and the fact that modern physics is proving the points of ancient cultural systems as it relates to the nature of reality and consciousness, hypnosis is explored with an internationally known expert, Dr Tim Brunson. The role of consciousness is being more fully explored in medicine and hypnosis is seen as one possible way to alter the biochemistry of a person down to the gene level. Indeed if the universe is ultimately a mental creation then hypnosis has a very important part to play. </itunes:summary>
